"guys, do i really need to call you one by one? there's a purpose why im sending a meeting maker you know.."
this is the first time, actually, that I got pissed off with my boys.
last week pa ako nag pa-reserve ng meeting room for the training. i wanted to train them on how to use the campaign program and the smartsheet on one sitting para time efficient. i think early this week lang din ako nagpadala ng meeting maker para hindi nila agad makalimutan. usually kasi if i send the meeting maker too early, chances are makakalimutan nila na may schedule meeting or training pala silang dapat punatahan/attenan.
Training was scheduled at 1pm till 6pm today. When my notification alerted, I entered the meeting room and set-up my laptop immediately para makapag start agad. I was waiting for them to arrive since nakita na naman nila ako na pumasok na ng meeting room at for sure ay nag send din ng alert ang meeting maker sa kanila. come 1:05pm, wala pa din pumapasok sa meeting room. When I checked them out sa window, walang tumatayo sa seats nila and walang nag bbother na pumunta sa meeting room. I got so irritated that I pm'ed them one by one and told them:
I mean, I know they're busy and all that... Pero ako? hindi ba ako busy? I have ten thousand things to finish and a million deadlines to catch and yet I still make time to train them with the stuff they need to know. If I'm a lousy manager, I will let them figure things out on their own. I wouldn't give a damn if they're doing things the wrong way. Unfortunately, I cared too much to the point that I'm willing to sit down with them one by one just to know if they understood what they should do. I may be OC when it comes to work being done pero para sa kanila din naman yun. They should give importance to these little things I do for them dahil come to think of it, metrics nila ang nakasalalay dito.
Ironically, I discussed to them last week some of the rules I set up for the team that they should follow. Hindi naman mahirap yung rules. Actually, hindi na nga rules yun kasi they should know it already dahil general rules naman yun such as no lates, VL should be filed early, and the meeting related rule which is they should confirm their attendance. Parang hindi naman nila na gets kung bakit ako nag set ng rules ng ganun.
What makes it even more frustrating is I sent meeting maker to people who should be present in the training. If you received it, ibig sabihin you are invited to attend it. Pag di ka naka receive nun, ibig sabihin the training is not for you. Why would you attend a training na hindi mo naman gagamitin (in any case) yung natutunan mo dun? Hindi mo ba naisip na baka makagulo ka lang dun sa mga taong kelangang intindihin yung training dahil yun ang heart and soul ng work nila? Your friends attending the traning doesn't mean that you should attend the traning as well lalu na kung magkaiba naman kayo ng trabahong ginagawa.
It's so frustrating that you're doing your best so your team would perform excellent while sila naman eh they don't give a damn! i never experienced this frustration before. what is happening? am I not an effective manager anymore? Or am I expecting a lot from them to the point na hindi naman nila kaya yung pinapagawa ko?
