The story is about a successful man named as Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) who owns a large company on the United States selling guns and other deadly weapons.. He can create weapons all by himself and majority of the weapons his company is selling was done by him. One time, a prospect client contacted him and is very interested on buying weapons. He did negotiate with them but he was tricked and was abducted. As a price for his freedom, he has to create a very big and deadly weapon that can destroy many people. He agreed with this kind of arrangement. With the help of the doctor who saved his life, they planned their escape. They have created a superhero that will save the world from evil, which was named: IRONMAN.
Let’s start with the characters. I don’t know how they did the casting but Robert Downey Jr. did a great thing. He did carry the character very well. The script given to him was perfect that he delivered his lines very well. Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts) who was Tony Stark’s assistant is very beautiful, sexy, and looked younger in this movie. Yes she delivered her role very well too but she was not required to act heavily. Jeff Bridges (Obadiah Stane) was Tony Stark’s company co-owner. I didn’t like his role very much because he was the bad guy (hehe… being bias here) but I admit that he carried his role good enough despite of his age (I don’t know… how old is he? He looks old in this movie).
The computers and tech stuff were superb! I’m a technology fanatic and owning a wide screen computer is like a super big dream come true. I saw five (or maybe 10) computers in this movie and all I did say was WOW!!! Not to mention the two robots who helped Tony Stark build up his Iron man suit. I remembered R2D2 and C3PO of star wars when I saw those two robots. And they were pretty obedient too! They were so cute even if they don’t have face. Tony Stark was talking to them like as if they’re humans. Oh and no to mention the 3D hologram Tony Stark have. Good God! I was in love with the computers on this movie!
Anyway moving on, there's something lacking on Iron man and Iron monger's fighting scene. I don't know what it is but I was not that satisfied. Also, I think Iron man did just few things to fight Iron monger. He didn't even showed most of his powers to fight his enemy. He used more of his power/weapons when he fought the terrorists and the air force army. Lastly, I think the electricity or the energy power (not sure what to call it) was the one who killed Iron monger (well, technically) and not Iron man himself. Errr... Can't explain it really well but all I know is that I'm not satisfied with the fighting scene.
All in all, I recommend everybody to watch this movie. It is a great entertainment for everyone. And it’s not just for kids, it’s for the young at heart too.
OVERALL RATING: 4.5 out of 5
