SPOILER ALERT!!!
you have been warned...
you have been warned...
right after i watched the transformers movie last 2007, i already can't wait for its sequel. and after one and a half year of waiting, here it is...
Me and my boyfriend watched Transformers in Robinson's Place Ermita, Midtown yesterday afternoon. We arrived at the mall at around 3:45p.m and stopped by at the BPI atm machine to withdraw some cash. we went straight ahead to the Midtown cinema, only to find out that the line is CRAZY loooooooooooooooong. Four cinemas occupied the transformers movie. three in midtown, and one in the old cinema. of course, we chose to watch it in midtown since its new and its guaranteed seating. we fall in line and waited one hour for our turn in the ticket booth. we were hoping and praying hard that it'll be guaranteed seating as we don't wanna watch it standing and we don't want to wait for another 2 hours for the next sched.
when we reached the cashier, i immediately said "miss, free seating ba yan?" the girl replied "yes ma'am pero seating capacity naman po". in layman's term, it only means that you won't be able to reserve the seat that you like but surely you will be seated because they will only sell tickets that corresponds to the number of seats available in each theater. so anyway, it was already 4:20 p.m and the person in front of us just bought the last 4:30 p.m showing tickets in cinema 3. fortunately, the next showing will be at 5:15 p.m in cinema 2. so we bought 2 tickets and went straight ahead to taters to buy some popcorns and drinks. since its not reserve seating, we decided to wait for our scheduled showing close to cinema 2 so we'll be able to choose good seats. and we did! we're at the center in the balcony section. everything went smoothly...
at exactly 5:30 p.m transformers started. in summary, the movie is about a the US government cooperating with the autobots and founded a team called NEST to hunt and fight the remaining decepticons on the planet. sam, on the otherhand, decided to study college and moved out of his parent's house. while packing up his things, he saw the remaining piece of all spark in one of his jackets. out of carelessness, he touched it with his barehands and suddenly he started to act weird (like a robot actually) and see some symbols that he himself can't understand. as it turns out, these so-called symbols is the map to somewhere that is very important to the fallen. sam has been attacked by some of the decepticons and was brought to the resurrected megatron. when he was about to kill sam, optimus prime came just in the nick of time and saved him. unfortunately, he was killed by megatron. determined to revive optimus prime and to know what's the symbols are all about, sam started to search for the oldest transformers on the earth with mikaela (megan fox), his college room mate leo (ramon rodriguez), agent simmons (john turturro), and wheelie; the smallest robot of decepticons who was caught by mikaela on their car garage looking for something. when they already found the oldest robot, they used the remaining piece of all spark to give life to him. what they didn't know is that the robot is a decepticon. fortunately, they found out that this robot is not a decepticon anymore and is more than willing to help them to solve sam's problem. Jetfire (the old robot's name) brought them to egypt where sam will find the petra. They have to get the petra and bring it on optimus prime's body to be resurrected before the decepticons gets it. They asked for the help of captain lennox (Josh Duhamel) to bring to Egypt the body of optimus prime and bring the other auto bots as well.
while sam and mikaela was running going to optimus prime's body, sam has been shot by megatron and has been close to being dead. but in his dream, the primes talked to him and told him to return and help optimus prime to beat megatron and the fallen. and he did. he rose like as if nothing happen and placed the petra on optimus prime's body. in less than 10 second, optimus prime is alive again but the fallen snatched the petra to optimus' body, making him weak again. when jetfire saw what happened, he decided to give his spark to optimus, which are attached with the help of jolt and ratchet. optimus uses his new strength to destroy the sun harvester and kill the fallen. and megatron. starscream make a tactical retreat.
The film ended with optimus saying that the tranformers and the humans now share an untold history and will combine their differences.
the movie is indeed tiring with all the action and fighting scenes that you'll see. but what the heck... you will enjoy every moment of it. yes, there are scenes that we're a bit boring and there are scenes that were not edited properly. but it is only 8% of the total movie time. everything else is enjoying and worth of your time and money. you will also meet new added transformers. some of them are mudflap and skids; the twin auto botsthat were very playful (their colors are red and green). there's also the fallen whom i thought was only a part of the title and refers to the decepticons. there's also jetfire who has the same personality of the old people (being talkative, walking with a cany, and is a bit fidgety). lastly, there's wheelie who is a bit annoying at first but as you watch the movie, he becomes cute.
the one and a half year waiting, plus the one hour wait in line is all so worth it!
