February 22, 2009 - Sunday...
Someone barged into our house and asked me for an ambush interview!!! lol... of course im kidding... they didn't just barged in.. and they didn't asked for an ambush interview (because if they did, then it's not called an ambush interview anymore... isn't it?)
six diligent students namely fiona, kathleen, ariane, mayeh, olan, and aiah from san juan de letran asked me if they can conduct a video interview (this is not a job interview ok???) for their research paper entitled "TAMBAY MILLIONAIRE". basically, the paper is all about people who earns cash at the comfort of their own home. i'm one of their chosen few to be included on their research paper and i was so excited, thrilled, and nervous all at the same time. besides me, they will also interview some of the famous and excellent SEO Specialists namely alfred palconit, zaldy dalisay, kenneth mendoza, and neil maranan (of course).
technically speaking, i'm really not a tambay millionaire. for one: i'm not a millionaire, two: im not a tambay, and three: i don't rely on pure freelance/home-based jobs. I have a full-time job. BUT i also have side projects that i do on my house every after work and every weekends. the money i earn for doing these so-called part-time jobs are the ones i use to pay my bills (e.g. credit cardSSS, phone bill, internet bill, electricity bill, etc.), and the ones i earn on my full-time job is the one i save on my bank account.
anyway, as i've said, im really not a tambay millionaire. but still, they insisted that I should be part of it because what i earn in my freelance job is not a joke. it's not really a huge amount but still, i can use it for settling my bills and debts.
moving on... the first shedule of the video interview was last friday (february 20). but there has been some conflict of schedules so we decided to have the interview today (Sunday). i fetched them on tapa king vito cruz at around 10:30 a.m. two of them went to SM harisson plaza to buy the things they need for their props while the rest ate their brunch. i was surprised because they bought a venti starbucks frappe for me. huwaw... i really didn't expect it. how did they knew i love starbucks? hmmm... indeed they know how to please their interviewee (^_^)
we started the interview at around 11:30 a.m. it was fun to watch them creating their own props and from the looks of it, i can say that they were really having a good time even though 'twas tiring and very stressful. gawd i miss college days... :'(
they started the shoot when they asked me to walk ahead... they were videotaping me while walking... a bit awkward because my neighbors were watching (gawd i hope my usisero neighbors disappear!). anywho, so there... they were videotaping me while walking until we reached our gate. they conducted the interview on my room because they need a computer (or in this case, my laptop) as a background. before the shoot, i was a bit nervous... while shooting, i was still nervous.. but after that, i realized i had so much fun! i answered all their questions and i hope they understood my answers (i was so bangag. hehe...) i also explained to them how i analyze traffic, statcounters, where the traffic comes from, what keywords people use on the search engines to arrive on my site, directory submission, and what i do as a link popularity specialist.
unfortuanately, the noise outside our house was caught on the video. i wanted to shout to my neighbors "HOY MANAHIMIK KAYO" but then again... sabi nila buti na lang malakas boses ko so i think they meant it'll work out just fine.
i prepared a little meryenda for them. just a braso de mercedes cake and they ate it when the interview ended. I was so happy it was successful and i hope their second interview on cavite for that day was a success too.
i really asked them to have a picture with me. sabi ko ibblog ko (^_^)
all in all, i was so happy and lucky to experience this kind of situation. i mean, not all people gets that chance to have a part of their life featured on a documentary. and what made it even more exciting is that cheche lazaro will be watching the documentary. i hope they pull it good and i hope they become successful on their documentary project. i wouldn't mind a re-shoot if it's for the betterment of their project.
i so love them all! (^_^)
