I used to like the barberque in Aling Nene's Express Vito Cruz because it's big, its tender, and the taste is superb...
I often eat at Aling Nene's Express in Vito Cruz when I was in high school because it's very near our home, prices are extremely affordable, and foods are very delicious. but as I went into college, I hardly have a hard time eating there.
So yesterday, I decided to eat there since I was craving for a delicious barbeque. To my surprise, everything has changed!
I saw two security guards on the door. one was outside and one was inside... While I was approahing the door I was waiting for someone (the two security guards maybe) will open the door for me. to my surprise, neither of them opened it. the security guard who was outside (whom I know for sure saw me entering because he was looking my way BUT talking with someone... a delivery boy maybe) didn't even bother to greet me. so with the help of my hands, I opened the door all by myself. I assumed that the guard inside will open the door but unfortuntely, he didn't heard me coming in. to make it worst, he was blocking the door! what am i suppose to do??? I open the door widely to make my presence known and that was the only time the security guard inside greeted me...
so that's a bad start huh?! wait till I order my food...
i was at the counter looking for a delicious ulam to order. no one was at the counter.. oh wait... yeah there was a lady but hell... she didn't noticed me... what am i? invisible? i was starving and no one ever dare to treat me good??? what kind of crew you have there?
so okay... focus focus... i started talking about my order and that lady (cashier maybe) who is so arrogant (hello... you're a cashier! you're suppose to smile and greet people happily! i don't care if you're tired already! that's you're freaking job! if you don't like what you're doing, then QUIT!!!) told me "i-sserve na lang po".
so okay, i seated somewhere. waited for my order. luckily, this waiter (a semi kalbo guy) treated me very well. he placed a spoon, a fork, a plate, a glass with ice, and a pitch of water into my table.
at last... my food is here.... i ordered two pieces of kiddie bbq, rice, and a pineapple juice (it's actually a combo meal). i started eating when suddenly i can't seem to remove the barbeque from its stick with my fork... it is so hard like a monoblock... i was really really disappointed with the security guards, with that arrogant lady cashier, and with the barbeque i ordered.. you call that a food? i call that a frozen piece of pork!
anyway, i called another waiter (this time the waiter who approached me is kinda dark skinned and small in height. he's not the first waiter who served me the utensils) and told him that i will be ordering a halo halo. he told me "ma'am, wala po kaming halo halo eh". Oh My God!!! that really freaked me out!!! there's a yellow paper pasted on your window glass that says "delicious halo halo for only P55.00" and yet you'll say to me that you don't have halo halo? what am I? dumb??? im so disappointed with everything that I just asked for the chit, paid the food I ate ,and went home.
everything seems so so wrong. your two lazy security guards (by the way, I caught one of the security guards getting the tip on the table near the door. are they allowed to do that?), that arrogant lady cashier (can you please tell her to change her aura esp. when she's in front of your customers?) that monoblock barbeque (so hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and that delicious halo halo (where the hell can I order this delicious halu halo of yours?)
i knew aling nene as a very good restaurant when was a child. but it all changed when I ate there yesterday. hope you can bring back the old aling nene restaurant with its very friendly crew and delicious foods.

hi..when did this happen? you should've taken their names and talked to their "manager" they have a new manager right now maybe that's why things are getting messy there. well do u remember the noisy lady who has this really loud voice? when u used to eat there back then? well she's been away for some time, and they had her replaced for the mean time.
i am deeply sorry for what happened.
i personally couldn't believe the new management has taken over. and honestly it's getting really ugly there.
i'm really sorry.
hey.. i hope i could hear from you again.

the whole of aling nene's management changed nearly four years ago when the original owners' family relocated abroad. those people claiming that they're relatives of the real Aling Nene and who currently owns the place aren't nice people. . . ergo, service and food sucks. i'm sorry you had to experience that. wish u had the craving when i was still running the show. oh and yes I am one of the children of the former owner who managed the resto 'o1-'03. I was 18 years old then.
